Sawston Fete was revived for the Jubilee in 2012, and now takes place every year on the first Sunday in June, on Spicers Field between Cambridge Road and New Road. The organisers are Sawston Cricket Club and Sawston United Football Club, with a bit of help from Sawston Scene.
The fete usually starts at 1pm. The official end time is 5pm, but things start to wind down from around 4pm.
We welcome demonstrations in the central arena – please get in touch if you have a group who would like to show off their skills at this year’s fete! We have a stage area and PA to play your music.
Any village organisation can have a stall at the fete, and if you are not run for profit there’s no charge, and any money you make goes to your organisation. The only rule is NO TOMBOLAS. Just contact email@example.com to let us know you are coming.
On the day, please come along at any time after 10am. You can park a car on the tarmac next to the pavilion while you unload, but please remove this before noon (there is free car parking in the Sawston Village College car park along New Road.)
You’ll need to bring your own chairs, gazebos and whatnot, and there’s no electricity. But this year we will have tables available to borrow.
Stalls are available for businesses for a small charge: contact Jo Amey for details: firstname.lastname@example.org
Car boot pitches are available at £10: to book, contact Mike Roughead on 565 580. Please arrive after 11.30am.
Classic cars will be on display, after driving up from the London Road industrial estate at 12.15pm. If you have a car, bike or scooter you’d like to bring, please contact Steve on 07773 890 540 email@example.com.
